You are thinking of combining the conference with a visit of the region? There is certainly a lot to see!

Québec City is the city closest to the conference venue and is certainly worth a visit, as it is the only fortified city north of Mexico. More facts and many interesting suggestions for a visit can be found on the official website of Québec City Tourism.

The closest national park is Jacques-Cartier and if you are not afraid of the cold, it provides great opportunities for several outdoor activities such as snowshoeing or hiking.

If you are more into alpine skiing, we would suggest either

You like being outside, but are more the fun park type of person? Then we would suggest Valcartier to you, which is the largest winter playground in North America.

If after all those outdoor activities, you’re not cold yet, you might consider a stay at the Hôtel de Glace (Ice Hotel), but it is also open for visits during the day.

For recovery you might consider a visit of a spa? Options among others are:  Sibéria Station, Spa des neiges or Nordique Spa.

Not to forget to mention are the wonderful museums of Québec City: Musée National des Beaux-Arts du Québec, Musée de la Civilisation or Musée de l’Amérique Francophone to mention only some.
